A tutorial

Here is a paced tutorial for gun sights.
This tutorial was possible with the collaboration of one of our users and we are glad to include it.
Click over the small thumbnails to see a bigger photo.

1.-Here is our subject, a Kel Tec PF9.
There are no aftermarket sights to replace the original ones, so Glow-On is the ideal option.

2.- As we can see there is nothing impressive about the standard sights.

3.- After the standard safety check, no ammo present.
Now we hold the gun securely. Clean the sights with alcohol to get rid of grease etc.

4.- Get a hold of your Glow-On and get ready to work. No primers or base coats needed!

5.- A small dab on the front sight, which is a receded dot, is all we need.

6.- A slight touch is essential. If your grip is shaky use a book to hold your hand steady.

7.- We use the wooden wand included with the product to wipe the excess, leaving a flat flush dot.

8.- A fast upwards movement is all we need to wipe the excess.
In some cases the finger works.

9.- Shine a small flashlight for a few seconds for a final check on the front dot.

10.- The front sight is finished. We like what we see, simple and efficient.

11.- Now we proceed to measure as accurately as we can the vertical and horizontal dimensions on the rear sight.

12.- Remember to check constantly the piece of Self Adhesive for size so it fits correctly.

13.- A view in low light helps a lot for balance.

14.- Carefully cut with the help of a utility knife and a small ruler. Take your time as this is crucial for the final result.

15.- A couple of layers of transparent nail polish will set and protect the final result. If you miss this step the rear sight will move or fall.

16.- We check again to make sure everything is in the right place.

17.- Final results are in.
Good visibility in the presence of light.

18.- Good visibility in the twilight.
Let everything cure for 24 hours to dry and set.
Time to go to the range.
